A 'tamper' is a tool used in making espresso, packing ground coffee into an even puck. John Gordon hand crafts them and his creations truly are a thing of beauty! In this case we have the King (Kong) of gorillas mounting Big Ben, clutching a (not to scale) Gorilla Tamper. The concept is a bit of a tribute to Dr Strangelove and a little reworking of my Mountain Rider samurai print but with more of an Americana/comic book vibe. It is obviously inspired from Japanese ukiyo-e prints and we went with the Risograph printing process to create a similar woodblock effect. The Samurai is riding a track frame based on the legendary Japanese frame builder Nagasawa. This print is now available to buy here
